This is my absolute favorite time of the year because it means new beginnings. And it's an especially good time for me because it means SPEECH SEASON STARTS SOON!
I love love love speech. I have so much fun performing and watching my friends perform.
*pushes up metaphorical glasses*
Call me a nerd if you want but I love it.
Also I'm getting more notices about casting and auditions, (I freaked out for a while because I wasn't getting any for about a month). I was afraid minnesota's film industry died all together.
My parentals are also letting me (possibly) get an agent. Which will help immensely. But I have to keep my grades up and all that fun stuff in order for that to happen. Ya know, highschool. Just thought I'd keep updated(:

Sherlock Holmes Dos
So two days ago I was in Colorado and my cousin, my brother, and I decided to go see the new Sherlock Holmes movie. I loved the first sherlock Holmes so I had high hopes for it. And I think I liked this one even more than the first. The cinematography of this film is absolutely stunning, you just can't help but get lost in the world they created. When people initially perceive the character of Sherlock Holmes you think he is just a smart and educated man, but the way Robert Downey Jr. Portrays him is mesmerizing and just plain entertaining. He becomes the comic relief even though he is the main character. He is in a way a little bit crazy but very very clever and knowledgeable.
And the relationship between Holmes and Watson is one of my favorite aspects of the movie. Jude Law and RDJ play it so well together.
I don't want to say too much because I feel like I would give too many spoilers away. But I think it's worth a trip to the theater.

Introductions and Stuff like that
Well, I have never blogged before, but I figured it would be a fun endeavor. So here we go!
My name is Riley and I am a junior in high school, and I live in Minnesota. (Basic info over)
So I am TERRIBLY obsessed with movies and film. And I use the word terribly because I honestly can't think of a better word because I just love it all so much. I hope to someday go into the film industry, whether it be directing, writing, acting, or whatever. And don't worry I have already been told many times about how difficult that may be, or how it might not work out for me in the future. And I know that, trust me. But I feel if a person has such a strong passion for something they should follow their heart no matter what people tell them. I believe in myself, and that's all that matters, even if no one else does. Who's to say, you know?
What I feel would be fun to do here would be to talk about some really good movies (past, present, upcoming) and share my opinions on them. Also update on everything going on in my life regarding film because there are going to be some great opportunities coming up soon soon soon. I'll post pictures and whatnot and I eventually hope to be doing some vlogging? Who knows.
